**One of our clients are currnently recruiting for a Deputy Manager in the South Ealing London Area.**
**Responsible to**:Early Years and Childcare Manager
**Salary**:£33,000 per annum
**Hours of Work**:40 hours per week, generally worked within office hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work

**Job Purpose**:To manage a Nursery and give advice and guidance on the development of any new nursery provision.

**_Duties and Responsibilities_**
**_Curriculum Developments and Delivery_**
- Oversee a Nursery, ensuring the delivery is creative, stimulating and fun.
- Maintain and develop the nursery curriculum in line with Early Years Foundation Stage.
**_Child Care_**
- Ensure each child is regarded as an individual, listened to and have their opinions valued, no matter how big or small
- Be responsible for the safety and well-being of each child (while they are with us of course)
- Ensure the nursery environment is welcoming, friendly and fun
- Ensure each child is given praise and encouragement, opportunities to succeed in environments where positive behaviour is promoted. In fact, do this for the staff too
- Check on each child’s development, liaising with Room Leaders regularly. Highlighting any concerns or development delay and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
**_Staff Management_**
- Manage the Nursery team effectively to ensure excellent quality of service delivery through a skilled and highly motivated team (even on a Monday morning)
- Contribute to the recruitment and induction of any new staff
- Conduct Annual Performance reviews/probation reviews
- Ensuring that all staff undertake relevant training and all staff hold safeguarding training to meet Ofsted requirements including Designated Safeguarding Lead Training
- Manage rotas, staff cover, and absence for sickness and annual leave (yes, staff are allowed time off)
**_Finance and Budgetary Management_**
- Assist the Early Years and Childcare Manger in the setting and monitoring of budgets for nursery c£500,000 pa
- Ensure all registration documentation is completed each term.
- Produce the odd report as required by the Early Years and Childcare Manager.
- Upload monthly headcount to Local authority portal to enable accurate funding claims
- Ensure parents and guardians pay their fees promptly and that we get money owed to us from other sources too.
**_Communication_**
- Show prospective parents around, whilst smiling, promoting the benefits of the nursery.
- Regularly liaising with parents and being their go-to person
- Utilise line management meetings to discuss performance, well-being, work/life balance, best places to east, and other things.
- Be an active participant in Manager’s Meetings and wider manager’s conferences, i.e. don’t just sit there eating the free biscuits (please note, they are not always free either).
- Represent the nurseries on local committees if required and to build effective working relationships with relevant local agencies / providers of nursery care.
**_General - Line Managers_**
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Data Protection and Health and Safety guidelines and policies. Oversee all information provided to statutory agencies and the police.
- Deputise for other Team Leaders within the orginasation as and when required - basically just helping each other out.
- Assist in the collation of statistics and data for the purpose of reporting to the Senior Management Team, Board of Directors, and other external stakeholders or funders.
**Conditions of Appointment**
Subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and verification of ability to work in the United Kingdom.
