Male OR Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist an elderly man with Physical Disability living in the Blackwood area, Lanarkshire.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

- Attending to all personal care needs as required
- Assisting with medication
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair on occasion
- Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living

Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.

Favourite activities are watching TV, using i-pad, socialising with friends and neighbours

Enjoys jigsaws and sport

Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.

**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**

Recruiting for one position.

Guaranteed permanent position initially an average of 8 hours per week working alongside other support workers, additional hours for covering holiday and sickness available

Set shifts on a weekly rota working pattern over 7 days per week

Full rota 8am - 9.30 am 12 noon -1.00pm 6.00pm -7.30pm

Week one Mon, Tue, Thur

Week two Mon, Tue, Sat and Sun

**Hourly rate**:
£12.50 per hour
