Can you help our production department to run as efficiently as possible? In this role as our Production Administrator, you will need to be commercially astute and guide the production team to understand the financial aspect that their production departmentcan have on the overall business. We're a fast-paced industrial manufacturer based in Oakham, Rutland and we need your help.
**Basic Salary**: Up to £28,000 based on your relevant experience

Production Administrator - engineering / manufacturing
As our Production Administrator, you won't be managing people - but you'll manage the production departments admin and paperwork and their overall processes from an administration point of view.
You'll be working closely with the Operations Manager, who you'll report into and the overall operations and finance teams too, ensuring we can achieve the efficient OTIF delivery of our machines from a manufacturing / production / assembly point of view.
Each project will have its own financial impact from a materials and labour point of view. You'll be responsible for understanding and administering them, closing them off and understanding the final costs of each project.
You'll need a strong commercial mindset to understand the financial impact of your decisions on the overall business.
As we design and manufacture our own niche special purpose machinery and equipment and manufacture mostly in house and some via our third-party partners, this is going to be a busy, challenging, and varied job for you.
**Your main responsibilities**: Production Administrator - engineering / manufacturing
- Run the administration of the production department - each area of the business has their own administrator, and you'll play a key role in the success of this one
- Closing our jobs down when they are finished or cancelled, ensuring all time and materials costs are accounted for
- Understand how material and time costs compare to standard costs
- Deal with back issues / delays in the production department
- Reporting job performance to the factory manager and to divisional managers
**Your background**: Production Administrator - engineering / manufacturing
- You will have solid administration experience gained within an engineering, manufacturing, or production environment so you'll understand the challenges we face
- You will understand manufacturing management information systems
- You will be commercially astute with a strong business acumen
- Have a good head for numbers, data, and spreadsheets and be able to spot trends and patterns and be proactive rather than reactive
**The Company**:
We design and manufacture our own niche special purpose machinery and equipment. We manufacture in house and via third parties. We supply machines and equipment to the National Grid / Power Grid & smaller energy contractors. We also supply into multiple industrysectors such as Civil Engineering & Telecoms, so you will be joining a very stable business within a strong industry sector.
