Ethics & Compliance Associate
3 days ago
Sitting within Deliveroo’s Legal team, Ethics & Compliance promotes a culture of using good judgement and acting with integrity; develops a clear understanding within Deliveroo of rules & standards and provides the tools, guidance and oversight needed to adhere to them, and acts as an independent function to which employees can raise concerns in confidence, including strengthening a speak-up culture, conducting investigations of potential misconduct and supporting the protection of whistleblowers.
**About the role**
We are looking for an **Ethics & Compliance Associate**, who will support the ongoing implementation of all aspects of Deliveroo’s global ethics and compliance program, drive key workstreams, support the business on new initiatives and investigate & remediate issues of concern.
We’re looking for someone who likes to solve difficult problems, is willing to explore creative ways to engage stakeholders, and wants to build a strong, innovative compliance program - all whilst acting with a strong sense of purpose.
This role is a hybrid position; you will need to be on-site in a Deliveroo office 3 days a week.
**What you'll be doing**
- You will help to manage Deliveroo’s **ethics & compliance efforts across multiple international jurisdictions**, working with stakeholders to make our compliance systems and controls the best they can be;
- You will support the conducting of periodic **risk assessments**, helping to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across the various business functions and geographic regions;
- You will regularly **analyse and use data** creatively to improve internal processes and act on developments in compliance regulations and laws, make sure our controls are up to date, and report your findings to Ethics & Compliance leadership;
- You will conduct **desktop due diligence** on our supply chain and partners;
- You will help the team develop, implement, and update Ethics & Compliance **policies and procedures** to align with changing regulatory requirements;
- You will help to design and deliver **training and communications** on our policies and procedures, to make sure employees have a clear understanding of Compliance obligations and ethical standards;
- You will support the conducting of** internal investigations**to address any alleged breach of rules, regulations or policies, and develop other measures designed to enforce Deliveroo’s Code of Conduct.
**Requirements**:
- ** Experience working in compliance, auditing or legal**, at a fast-paced, multinational organisation, with a strong track record of execution and delivery;
- Experience of **working with global stakeholders** across all functions and levels;
- A university degree, preferably in Law;
- Some experience of working with the **Bribery Act, Criminal Finances Act, International Sanctions, Anti-Money-Laundering** laws and/or the **Modern Slavery Act**;
- Strong English **communications skills**, both written and verbal, with excellent attention to detail; additional languages (French) are a plus;
- Some experience of **conducting internal investigations** and developing other measures designed to enforce the Company’s Code of Conduct;
- Curiosity and hunger for learning and **happy to “roll your sleeves up”** and turn your hand to anything.
- A **practical, innovative and pragmatic approach** to solving problems and mitigating compliance risk.
**Why Deliveroo**
Our mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders. We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it.
We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.
**Workplace & Benefits**
At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. Benefits differ by country, but we offer many benefits in areas including healthcare, well-being, parental leave, pensions, and generous annual leave allowances, including time off to support a charitable cause of your choice. Benefits are country-specific, please ask your recruiter for more information.
**Diversity**
At Deliveroo, we believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing indust
