**Brief overview of role**

A new opportunity has arisen at Mabe Allen for a Accountancy Apprentice. Throughout your time with the company, you will be reporting to our Finance Manager and assisting the Accounts Payable/Receivable and other finance tasks including recording supplier invoices, payment runs, month-end reconciliations and general accounting.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Perform tasks allocated by Senior/Manager within the budget
- Feedback details of potential over-runs to the Senior/Manager on a timely basis
- Study diligently for professional exams
- Perform office duties allocated by Senior/Manager
- To provide support on Reception as required.
- Work within budgetary controls
- Working to deadlines
- Liaise with client to ensure complete client satisfaction
- Comply with professional standards and ethics
- Ensure compliance with office and Practice Assurance Procedures and Money Laundering Regulations
- Maintain full training records
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislatio
- Comply with Data Protection Regulations
- Working in accordance with all Mercia Audit, Non-Audit and Practice Assurance programmes where relevant
- Act in the appropriate professional manner at all times.

**Training**

The apprentice will be enrolled on the Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard, which includes 6 AAT exams, in addition to the Synoptic Assessment as part of the End-Point Assessment (EPA) process.

The knowledge units will be delivered at the EMA training hub in Derby or Nottingham (depending on apprentices location) through day release.

- Bookkeeping Transactions (L2 Unit)
- Bookkeeping Controls (L2 Unit)
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Management Accounting: Costing
- Indirect Tax
