Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for an **Assistant Merchandiser** to join our Group Retail team on a **6-month fixed-term basis**. The role will be based at our Merlin Technical Hub office based in the thrilling Thorpe Park Resort, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.
Reporting to the Merchandiser, the Assistant Merchandiser will support the end-to-end assortment review process for key categories within our Global Retail product portfolio. You'll play a critical role in ensuring our product assortment is streamlined, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. Other key responsibilities include;
- **
Data Collection**: Gather SKU information, including specifications and photographs, to create a centralised assortment database.
- ** Supplier Collaboration**: Build strong relationships with suppliers and attractions, ensuring accurate and timely data input into Merlin systems.
- ** Category Analysis**: Work with the Merchandiser to evaluate product capabilities, group similar products, and recommend changes to optimise the assortment.
- ** Support Decision-Making**: Provide analytical support and data insights to facilitate assortment reviews and improve stock and sales performance.- **️ Process Improvement**: Help rationalise product categories, identifying opportunities to eliminate duplicates and low-performing items.
- ** Collaboration**: Partner with the Supply Chain and Merchandising teams to understand supplier and delivery capabilities.
- ** RFP Support**: Assist in collating data for RFPs (Requests for Proposals) on critical assortment components.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Considerable Merchandising experience
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must
- Strong analytical skills and forecasting
- Attention to detail
- Experience of working on product assortments
- An adaptable team player
- Excellent communication skills

- Proactive problem solver
- Highly organised and able to deal with competing priorities
