Estate Strategy Project Officer

Whittington Health is looking for a bright, hard working and ambitious individual to join their strategy team as a project support officer. The role is an excellent steppingstone into any of numerous careers in the NHS and would suit people both with no experience at all, and those with experience wanting a different challenge.
You will be working on hugely important and life-changing projects for Whittington including developing a new Maternity and Neonatal building, new community diagnostic centres, and health hubs. You will get to see the way the NHS works and how you could have a career here.

The post holder will be responsible for providing project and administrative support to the Estate Strategy team and the Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs, primarily in relation to the delivery of the Whittington Health Estate Strategy and with a focus on delivering strong governance for Estate Strategy projects.

Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Strategy and the Estates Strategy team, incl:
- Manage and arrange meetings
- Take minutes/action notes and maintain action registers, following-up for action updates
- Manage and distribute meeting documents
Project Management
- Provide project support and management, including updating action lists, project plans, risk registers and project dashboard progress reports, maintaining excellent version control.
- Gather information and data where required.
- Manage elements of projects, as agreed and appropriate.

Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Strategy and the Estates Strategy team, incl:
- Manage and arrange meetings
- Take minutes/action notes and maintain action registers, following-up for action updates
- Manage and distribute meeting documents.
Project Management
- Provide project support and management, including updating action lists, project plans, risk registers and project dashboard progress reports, maintaining excellent version control.
- Gather information and data where required.
- Manage elements of projects, as agreed and appropriate.
Communication
- Provide a central contact point for project related enquiries.
Finance support
- Maintain project budgets and related expenditure information.
- Manage the processing of project procurement information on the Trust Procurement system, to generate purchase orders and receipt invoices for payment, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and chasing up information as required.
- Liaise with the Capital Finance team to confirm project budget and expenditure positions and deal with queries
- Provide regular project budget updates
- Provide a communications and liaison point for contractors’ payment enquiries.
General
- Work independently on aspects of the role, managing own workload and exercising autonomy and control, whilst recognising when it is appropriate to seek advice or assistance.
- Work as an integrated member of the wider Estates Strategy team.
- Uphold the smart working principles and be a champion for paper lite and environmental initiatives.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of a range of skills to support delivery of role.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the Estate Development Lead (Strategy).
