Healthcare support worker - Young people EXPEREINCED

**The Lighthouse - Darwen, Lancashire**

**£13.00 per hour plus time and half weekend's OR nights**

**PLEASE NOTE WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT ANY SPONSERSHIP**

This post is for full time days and nights work only. Staff would be expected to complete mandatory training during days. The shift pattern will be four days (week 1) and three (week 2) and then continued in this manner.

salary is £13.00 per hour plus 1.5 time additionally for weekends or Night Shifts

A pension scheme is available.

Sick pay - Statutory sick pay (SSP) / Managers discretion

Annual Leave - 210 hours per year. (Including bank holidays)

**Job Overview**

Associated Wellbeing Ltd is an exciting and alternative provision supporting young people with complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties using bespoke packages and therapeutic approaches. The role includes engaging the hard to engage, instilling hope in young people who struggle to see what tomorrow looks like, always having a smile, having enhanced communication and listening skills. **Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Engaging young people and developing therapeutic relationships
- Supporting young people through therapeutic interventions/programs
- Escorting and supporting young people in the community
- Sharing feedback about young person’s presentation
- Completing records and notes in accordance with policy
- Safeguarding young people
- Risk assessment and risk management
- Organising with the young person a weekly planner
- Providing stimulating activity
- Life skills development
- Physical health monitoring (Training will be provided)
- Empowering young people to be the best they can be
- General housekeeping
- Working with young person to prepare meals
- Verbal de-escalation
- Use of DBT language - Training will be provided.
- Working with families and carers
- Adhere to data protection act and policies
- Attend and participate in handovers
- Monitoring young people’s health and well-being and reporting back to senior staff
- Uphold and adhere to all local and company policy and procedures
- Information governance
- Work with the wider/local community in a positive manner
- To keep up to date with appropriate training in line with PDP including online modules.

All staff members employed by Associated Wellbeing Ltd are expected to be familiar with and aware of their responsibilities in relation to local ‘children’s safeguarding board’, ‘local adult safeguarding board’ and procedures for ‘safeguarding and protecting children and vulnerable adults’.
