We are a growing, family orientated training practice with a current list size of around 10,000 patients. Our dedicated staff have built an excellent reputation in meeting patient needs. Helix Medical Centre is based within Herts and Essex Community Hospital in Bishop's Stortford. We pride ourselves on delivering professional medical care in a friendly environment while striving to meet all the challenges of modern General Practice.

We are members of the local Primary Care Network providing extended services as a hub to the local community. We also work with Allied Health professionals together with an expanding complement of ARRs staff including Physicians Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, Community Paramedic, Community Midwife, Health and Wellbeing Advisor, Care Co-ordinator, Social Prescribers and First contact physio, Dietician etc. There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within our catchment area providing an interesting and varied case mix.

**Job description**

We are looking for experienced Receptionist / Administrators to join our friendly team. Previous experience within a busy GP Practice is essential, along with a good working knowledge of SystmOne clinical system / Accurx, so you are able to hit the ground running, supporting our team and patients.

**Duties to include**:

- Booking appointments
- Answering calls
- Taking messages
- Printing prescriptions
- Generating pathology / xray forms
- Scanning / opening post
- Registering new patients
- Filing
- Secretarial administration / referrals
- Admin duties as required
- Opening & Closing premises in line with shift pattern

You will be required to cover additional hours re staff holidays and sickness - sometimes at short notice, which may include a later finish.

Attendance at staff meetings / training may at times be in addition to your contracted hours.

**Hours of work**:
**Role 1** is 34.5 hours

Monday 8am to 6:30pm

Wednesday 8am to 2pm

Thursday 8am to 6:30pm

Friday 8am to 6:30pm

**Role 2** is 28.5 hours

Monday 8am - 6.30pm

Tuesday 9.30am - 8pm

Friday 8am to 6.30pm

**Role 3**is 28.5 hours

Monday 8am - 6.30pm

Tuesday 8am - 6.30pm

Friday 8am to 6.30pm

**Rate of Pay**:
£11.44 per hour (rising to £12.21 from 01.04.25)

**Annual Leave**:
5.6 weeks annual leave inclusive of bank holidays

**Pension**:
Option to join NHS Pension scheme.
