**Electronics and Software Engineer**

**Photocentric Ltd**are looking for a talented and enthusiastic experienced E**lectronics and Software Engineer** to help us build the next generation of connected 3D printers.

You will be working within a broad multidisciplinary team of electrical engineers, systems engineers, software engineers and all-round great folk to both design and build the systems in our machines.

We seek an engineer with mixed electronics (schematic capture and board PCB design) and software experience to help create our next generation 3D printers. You must be comfortable with C/C++, and HDL languages for FPGAs. With you, we endeavour to make ourprinters more accurate, more interconnected and make our business more data driven.

**Key Responsibilities for the Electronics and Software Engineer**:

- We are embarking on an exciting new generation of connected 3D printers. To get there we need to phase out the old and phase in the new
- Collaborate with an experienced team of mechanical engineers and a growing group of electrical and software engineers
- Work with microcontrollers, single board computers and FPGAs to high-speed data transmission and data collection
- Join our growing electronics team to create new and exciting PCBs for internal R&D and later design for manufacture
- Create real-time logging systems from a mix of analogue and digital sensors
- Deliver a new range of networkable devices using Wifi and Bluetooth chips

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications of our Electronics and Software Engineer**:

- Have 3+ years of working experience creating and improving embedded systems
- Mixed electronics and software experience on high power and low power device design. Experience with RTOS will be extremely useful in the role
- Comfortable designing and testing electrical PCBs and high power PLC wiring systems
- You are a competent C/C++ developer comfortable working within different IDE environments, including windows and Linux
- Knowledge of another language such as Python would be beneficial for data analysis and device testing
- You have experience with Atmel (Microchip) and ESP32 and microcontroller families
- Comfortable writing test harnesses, unit testing, and debug low-level code (from microcontrollers to embedded Linux)
- Happy to get hands-on in a collaborative environment
- Operate with a desire for quality and excellence, you are keen to ownership

**Bonus Skills:?**
- Some experience low level Linux e.g. writing device drivers
- Experience working with high-value consumer electronics
- You have a passion for 3D printing and rapid prototyping
- Some experience in electronics, FPGAs and or robotics on a hobbyist or professional level.
- Experience with JIRA and pipelining would be welcomed
- Experience with safety critical code development would be beneficial
