This role will support the Family Information Service (FIS) Team Lead and team in order to ensure that the LA fulfils its Statutory Duties to provide information support and guidance to parents as described in the statutory guidance for 2013 and Childcare Act of 2006 (particularly sections 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13) and the Care Act 2014.

The post holder will be responsible for monitoring, implementing and contributing to any developments of web and social media that may be deemed as necessary to use in order to provide information, advice and support to service users.

The post holder will develop the Support in Cornwall website to enable families, adults, carers and professionals to self-serve accurate and timely information and support by means of easy access to a directory of services across Cornwall. The post holder will proactively work with all communities in Cornwall to ensure that the website reflects the local services and organisations available.

This role requires the post holder to be responsible for reviewing all entries offering services to children, young people and vulnerable adults, including producing regular affordable and accessible activity guides for families. The post holder will ensure compliance with the safeguarding criteria in place for inclusion on the website and signpost organisations to the relevant support agencies if required.

This role requires data entry and manipulation as well as monitoring and updating the OFSTED download.
- Assisting with the scrutiny of information held on the database, the identification of any discrepancies and taking relevant action.
- Assisting with the collection of data and report creation

**About You**
- High level skills in using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Good understanding of databases, data entry and extraction.
- Level 3 Qualified (at least college education)
- Competent literacy levels.
- Knowledge and skills required to monitor and evaluate information systems and make recommendations with regards to improvements and changes.
- Experience of development of social media and developing technologies to provide information, advice, support and guidance.
- Sound understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 and how it affects the holding and release of information.
- Knowledge and skills working with databases and Customer Record Management Systems.
- The ability to scrutinise information and data to identify discrepancies and act accordingly.
- Experience of updating and developing websites.
- Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Local Offer and Carers.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
