Moorbrook Café Bistro attracts guests from the local area as well as national and international visitors. Some of our guests may be here to relax, to catch up with friends, to celebrate a remarkable event or simply to eat, drink and be restored. Regardless, it is our mission to ensure their visit is stress free and that they leave feeling better than when they arrived. Your role is key to ensuring that the experience of all our guests is the very best it possibly can be.

**Hours**

The days and times of work will be on a rota basis and will be variable. The barista counter opens 30 minutes before the first food service and closes 30 minutes after the kitchen. You can expect to work between Monday and Sunday, normally between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Flexibility is expected, with regular weekend and some evening work required.

**Duties**
- The role entails working the barista counter within a busy café bistro
- Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan, and speciality beverages
- Serving guests and taking orders
- Receiving and processing customer payments
- Providing excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction
- Making menu recommendations, answering questions, and sharing information with café bistro guests
- Meet and greet restaurant guests when applicable
- Work well and closely with the bistro and kitchen teams
- Clear tables professionally & ensure all relevant service areas are clean and tidy
- To clean the toilets as required by the rota, and to check on them hourly when on shift
- To clear plates, hand wash dishes and operate the dishwasher as required
- It is expected that all restaurant team members abide by the Health and Safety legislations and guidelines
- To provide support to other areas of the Moorbrook team
- Any other reasonable duties as required to fulfil the needs of the business
- Two t-shirts, or polo shirts, and an apron will be provided, however, you must bring your own practical, clean work shoes as well as black trousers and, if preferred, a black long sleeve under top. In addition, it is your responsibility to keep your work clothes clean and tidy

There may be opportunities to get involved in activity delivery/facilitation at Moorbrook and in the local area - if you have an activity qualification or a particular interest and appropriate experience, indoors or outdoors, then please be sure to let us know.

**Criteria**
- Evidence of Barista training or experience
- Experience as a barista in a busy café/coffee shop is preferred, however, training will be provided
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene would be preferred, however this can also be provided

**Other Details**
- Pay will be in line with the living minimum wage
- You will be provided with one meal per shift
- You will report to the Moorbrook Café Bistro Manager and Moorbrook General Manager

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £8.60-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
