Job Summary
The MA Theological Studies Programme Leader and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is responsible for the effective delivery
of the MA Theological Studies programme in compliance with LST’s Validation Agreement with Middlesex University
and LST’s policies, processes and practices, and for contributing to the area of Theology. This 1.0 FTE position will
consist of 0.5 programme leadership and 0.5 lecturing, supervision and research.

Key Tasks
The following key tasks are indicative of the role, rather than exhaustive, and tasks may be amended, added or
removed in response to changing circumstances or in line with the skills and experience of the postholder.

**Programme Leadership and Management**
- Maintain, deliver and develop the MATS programme within the wider educational context of the School.
- Work to enhance continuation, retention, progression and completion rates for all students in the programme.
- Lead contracted Faculty and Visiting Lecturers in the effective delivery of the programme, and care for their well
- being.
- Oversee the assignment of teaching, project supervision and marking for the programme.
- Lead the process of revalidating the programme (due next in in 2027/28).
- Chair the MATS Programme Board.
- Liaise with Registry in the facilitation of MATS Module and Assessment Boards, the latter as chaired by the

Academic Dean.
**Teaching and Supervision**
- Teach agreed modules in the MATS programme.
- Teach agreed modules in the BA Theology programme.
- Revise and develop modules at both MA and BA level as required.
- Supervise Level 6 BA projects as appropriate.
- Supervise MTh/MPhil/PhD research students.
- First-mark modules as taught, and second-mark/moderate other modules as required.

**Research**
- Publish peer-reviewed research.
- Present papers at national and international conferences.

**Contributing to community life, recruitment and other meetings**
- Provide basic pastoral care of students.
- Lead a student tutor group.
- Participate actively in the recruitment of students, including interviewing of prospective students and engagement

in Open Days and Experience Days.
- Attend and actively contribute to the Academic Board.
- Fully participate in weekly Chapel and community prayer groups.
- Fully participate in additional School committees and meetings as required.
- Attend key School events such as Graduation Day, Faculty Development Days, Away Days, the Laing Lecture, the

Research Conference and the Summer Conference.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Academic Dean.

Terms of Employment:
**Salary**: £45,473 per annum (1.0 FTE).
Hours: 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE). The usual working day is 9.00 am
