**Full Job Description**

This is an exciting opportunity as we are a new home and are recruiting a brand new team of staff to work with our service at a high standard.

Optimum Youth Care is a newly established progressive care home specialising in delivering holistic care and development for children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. We are looking for people who encompass the values of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy, whilst working systemically, and are committed to building a family home and grow with us over time.

Our vision for this home is to work therapeutically with young people to expand their skill set, emotional resilience and get them ready for independence.

We strongly believe that any future success to our services would be a testament to the people in the team as well as the training they receive. From day one you will benefit from training and support from a proven learning and development team and leadership from a Qualified Social Worker, as well ongoing support whilst in post from your peers and colleagues to ensure you have everything you need to become successful in the role.

**Benefits**:

**Key Duties**:

- Ensuring the motivation and morale of the children and staff team
- Building community links and ensuring the service is meeting the best interests and safeguarding requirements of the children
- Leading, support managing and developing the residential support teams
- A range of ad-hoc duties to ensure the highest quality experience for the children being cared.

**Key Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 year in children’s residential care
- DRIVER - Desirable. Full clean licence required
- Have an understanding of Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards
- NVQ Level 3 in children and young people in residential care
- Experience and understanding of EBD and challenging behaviour
- Desirable - Proven and effective leadership and management skills
- Medication Administration and Auditing Capability
- Excellent Communication (Expressive/Receptive/Written)
- Ability to complete Rotas
- Sensitive, empathic approach with resilient nature
- Reflective and reflexive practice
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A passion for supporting vulnerable children and a commitment to ensuring best practice
- IT Literate

Pay: £29,000.00-£33,280.00 per year

- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Harrow HA2 8RR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- looked after children/safeguarding: 3 years (required)
- supervisory: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
