Experience, whether that be voluntary or paid, would be ideal with a SEN background. To be successful in this teaching assistant role you must be supportive, caring and could positively engage the student(s) you will be working with. We want to see graduates with the ambition to become Educational Psychologists, Child Psychologists or teachers,keen to build relevant experience in a paid teaching assistant role providing support for children who have autism and communication difficulties. You will be working mainly on a one-on-one basis providing support for a child who has autism and communicationdifficulties. You will need to display a motivational, engaging and patient manner throughout this role and be proactive to ensure the students are fully supported.
