Health & Safety Advisor

An experienced Health & Safety Advisor is required to work on a temporary basis for a West Midlands Local Authority.
The successful Health & Safety Advisor will be:
- Advising managers on the implementation of health, safety and wellbeing policy and strategy to ensure a safe, healthy and supportive working environment for employees and others who may be affected by the council's undertaking.
- Supporting and assisting in implementing the council's strategy to promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture.
- Undertaking specific health,safety and wellbeing audits as required.
- Acting act as a point of contact for managers and employees on a wide range of daily health, safety and wellbeing enquiries, providing advice, guidance and practical solutions where appropriate and as directed
- Monitoring accident statistic's, advising on their completion and undertaking investigations as necessary.
You will require:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and be a member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)
- At least one year's health and safety experience, preferably within a large, diverse and complex organisation
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Demonstrate ability to work with managers and employees
Temporary for minimum 3 months but possible extension. £15.12ph. Working from home but must be mobile to undertake site visits
