**SEND Teaching Assistant**
**Sittingbourne, Kent**
**Immediate start available, Long term role**

We are currently recruiting for a **SEND Teaching Assistant** for a secondary school in the **Sittingbourne **area to work on a full-time basis. The ideal SEND Teaching Assistant will have experience working with SEND students of primary or secondary school age. You will ideally be a TA, LSA or Support Worker with SEND experience who will be responsible for providing support to children in a school environment.

This **SEND Teaching Assistant** role will be working in a mainstream secondary school. As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will support students in lesson, accompany them in outdoor learning activities and work with them in specialist provisions (i.e. breakout spaces). You will be required to engage your learners in their lessons whilst caring for their emotional and pastoral needs.

**Your responsibilities as a SEND Teaching Assistant will include**:

- Providing support for learners both in and out of the classroom
- Managing behaviour as required
- Assisting with maintaining a safe and positive environment throughout the school
- Being alert to any safeguarding or pastoral concerns
- Helping classroom teachers to deliver a first class education
