We're currently looking for an International Development Programmes Manager on a full time, 6-month fixed term contract basis.

This position sits within the Partnerships & Recognition team and is focussed on delivering on ACCA's public value agenda through the development of the global accountancy profession.

This is a global opportunity and we are flexible on the location of this role.

**The job**:
Reporting to the Head of Profession Engagement on a day-to-day basis, you'll be involved in the following:

- Managing bid teams and preparing bid content to a high quality standard to realise project opportunities
- Enhancing the governance and reporting mechanisms for the portfolio of international development projects that build capacity in the accountancy profession
- Managing the overall portfolio budget - income and expenditure (with the Senior Profession Programmes Specialist and the Head of Profession Engagement)
- Establishing project management processes: tracking and reporting on the portfolio of projects, tracking, and ensuring management of portfolio dependencies, risks and issues
- Overseeing the deployment of consultants to projects and forecasting additional resource requirements for new projects, ensuring the effective use of resources
- Planning, guiding and coaching others as appropriate on the mobilisation of new capacity building projects in the accountancy profession
- Directly managing the implementation of any capacity building projects when required and overseeing the management of other projects within the portfolio
- Supporting horizon scanning activities to identify upcoming project opportunities
- Supporting communications - internally (including ACCA's intranet, 'Arthur') and externally (including professional accountancy organisations, donor agencies and government bodies) working closely with the wider team.

**We're looking for someone who**:

- Has experience of managing programmes and projects in the international development field and/ or programmes and projects that deliver public value
- Has experience of international development bid writing / procurement processes
- Understands the key strategic aims of ACCA and the competitive environment in which it operates
- Holds a graduate level qualification, or equivalent experience
- Formal programme and project management training and qualification essential
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills - including first class oral, presentation, report writing and facilitation skills
- Is able to identify risks, understand their potential impact and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, exercising clear objectivity in making decisions and recommendations
- Consistently displays a high degree of professionalism while working under pressure, on own initiative and/ or in changing environments
- Has strongly developed skills in influencing and negotiation
- Experience of managing programme and project budgets
- Experience of evaluating projects and data gathering and analysis from disparate sources
- Experience of managing project resources (consultants/temps/permanent employees).
