**Role Overview**

Bupa is driving a digital programme to improve access to healthcare service, streamline and better coordinate healthcare journeys and improve customer experience.

The Head of Digital Healthcare leads on the development and delivery of digital healthcare services for Bupa customers. This role supports the specifying of requirements, shaping of solutions and defining of the delivery roadmap working with the Healthcare Development team. The role holder will be accountable for the delivery of new digital healthcare developments, managing the backlog and leading the cross functional agile release train. The Head of Digital Healthcare will own key products and core capabilities that are intrinsic to digital healthcare and lead the relationship with digital healthcare service partners.

The role is a direct report to the Director of Healthcare Management.

**What you’ll do**:

- Lead the development of services and modules of Bupa’s app and web service that will significantly improve the proportion of customers choosing to access healthcare digitally; that will drive effective care interventions that lead to improved care pathways for customers with better outcomes, better experience and better healthcare cost efficiency; that will enable improved operational efficiency within Bupa; and that will provide commercial differentiation for Bupa.
- Accountable for successful delivery of all digital healthcare developments in line with specification and performance standards, working with relevant teams such as Transformation and IT.
- Ensures digital healthcare developments are ready for release, through testing, bug fixing and business readiness by relevant teams and fit for purpose to deliver expected benefits.
- Coordinate and prioritise the digital healthcare roadmap and resource plan to maximise value release.
- Own the digital backlog, roadmap and resource plan for your digital healthcare products, promoting a culture of customer-focused delivery across the team.
- Contribute to the development of digital healthcare strategy and broader Bupa digital strategy and develop the strategic relationships with selected key healthcare technology and clinical service partners.
- As business owner, define and lead the delivery vehicles (such as agile release train) that will optimise productivity and speed to market
- Work with the Product and Propositions, Distribution, Operations and Digital teams to support delivery of propositions or features that bring value to customers and Bupa. Work with other market unit functions to fully leverage commercial synergies and to create customer centred, integrated healthcare services that increase access to affordable healthcare.
- Lead the function in a way that displays the highest level of integrity, honesty, inclusivity and good governance and commitment to the delivery of fair customer outcomes.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement that constantly seeks to improve customer outcomes, increase efficiency and productivity.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of a large portfolio of digital healthcare initiatives, providing regular status and performance updates to the Director, to achieve the UK Insurance strategy and Annual Operating Plan.
- Responsible for best practice portfolio management of a broad range of initiatives, working in a Scaled Agile Framework and with other methodologies, owning the digital roadmap and backlog.
- Work with colleagues and providers to ensure that new services are embedded and delivering to required standards and that digital care pathways meet specified service levels.
- Pro-actively contribute to a strongly-collaborative Healthcare Management Leadership Team - developing and delivering our healthcare strategy, people engagement goals and achieving targeted outcomes across the function.
- Lead, develop and manage a high performing team of 5-10 individuals to deliver on Bupa’s goals, along with matrix management of teams of up to 100 people.
