**Exec Summary**:
A Fund Finance Specialist is a loan underwriting position within the Investment Finance (lending) business of Citi Private Bank. This role will be primarily focused on performing the credit analysis and loan structuring of new Subscription Credit Facilities as well as ongoing portfolio management of existing loans. The role has indirect client coverage responsibility.
This role is in Citi Private Bank’s Subscription Credit Facility (“SCF”) business, a large global lending business that provides bridge financing to Private Equity funds. Citi is one of the leading global banks in this market with a large franchise in EMEA.
The SCF business is part of the Private Bank’s suite of lending products, which also covers margin and securities-backed finance, commercial and residential real estate finance, as well as speciality lending against private aircraft and art.
This is a demanding role requiring strong structuring skills where individual judgment is needed to assess the risk reward dynamics of the extension of credit. It requires a mix of analytical skill and commercial acumen alongside the ability to influence various stakeholders, including clients, their advisors, private bankers, internal risk management, auditors and to generally ensure transactions meet the Bank’s highest underwriting standards.
This role is based in the CPB London office but with the ability to work from home.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Working within a team dedicated to the origination and underwriting of Private Equity subscription credit facilities but there may also be exposure to other lending and capital markets products, as required.
In partnership with the client coverage team, assist with the structuring and execution of Private Equity Subscription Credit Facilities, adhering to certain internal risk acceptance criteria.
Full loan underwriting and financial analysis with appropriate risk return characteristics, ensuring compliance with applicable internal credit policies and procedures.
Evaluating certain Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria in connection with sustainability-linked loans.
Collateral Evaluation - principally Private Equity investor commitments but also other asset classes, as required.
Preparation of initial deal screening and capital allocation memorandums.
Negotiating and closing of facility documentation, Letters of Credit and ISDAs, including liaison with internal and external legal counsel.
Portfolio management including relationship annual reviews, waivers and extensions, covenant compliance and documentation reviews.
Problem Recognition, including credit classification and review of risk ratings, working in conjunction with the Private Bank’s loan remedial management team, as appropriate.
General ongoing credit and documentation-related administration.
**Qualifications**:
A proven track record working in a similar role
Strong and proven analytical, financial structuring and execution skills.
An in-depth knowledge and understanding of Financial Analysis including financial and cash flow modelling.
Excellent communication (written and verbal).
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Demonstrates initiative with an collaborative approach to problem solving.
Team player.
Knowledge of financial markets, investments, banking and loan products.
Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience of Secured/asset backed lending, preferably Fund Finance.
Experience working with external legal counsel
**Education**:
Minimum Bachelor's University degree
Professional qualifications such as CFA/CAIA preferred
