We’re looking for a **Highway Agency Co-ordinator**
The **Highway Agency Co-ordinator **is an exciting role that requires someone to be a true expert in this field to support Severn Trent Water & to ensure we are following mandatory process as well as partnering with the business to educate on legislation in turn driving best practice.
The Highway Agency Co-ordinator’s primary role is to ensure Severn Trent Water meets its obligation under S60 of NRSWA 1991 /TMA 2004 to ensure our major program of works is submitted accurately and timely to Highway Coordination meetings. This will enable Highway Agency to coordinate our works with their own and other utility work to avoid conflicts and refusal of projects to minimise disruption on the highway.
The role is also critical in establishing good relationships with Highway Agency’s to use as source of information in relation to Traffic Management Act performance, liaise and support internal departments to avoid liabilities, understand industry norms and represent STW brand / image to follow and comply with legislation.

You'll be based from home to support travel commitments and managing individual workload. You’ll be part of our 280 strong **Workforce Planning & Optimisation Team** who all love what they do, whilst partnering the wider business too.
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**
You’ll come to us with a wealth of experience of traffic management act regulations & legislations, and not only understand the details but demonstrate your knowledge both externally and internally. You will work closely alongside the Highways Agency and participate in group meetings, presenting & negotiating your knowledge, findings on specific topics, current & future works.
Just as important as your traffic management act knowledge, your communication skills and appetite to be a true partner to the business is just as important in equal measure; You will directly support Traffic Management Act Compliance team and other areas of the business in highlighting key gaps in performance and processes and use influence of established relationships to reduce performance issues.
A key part of this role will be to develop & grow your own knowledge as you will need to be a true expert in all legislation whether that is just day to day understanding of what the legislation means in practice to large process changes.
You will also be responsible for submitting co-ordination plans to the Highways Agency so excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
You will be accountable for developing strong working relationships across the TMA team and other areas of the business. You will be responsible in highlighting key gaps in performance and processes and use influence of established relationships to reduce performance issues such as backlog of defects, S81’s, FPN’s and S74’s etc.
You will represent and support TMA Compliance team at regional management meetings for performance action plans as and when required. You will identify processes not compliant with TMA legislation and where area of expertise requires, work with process owner for continuous improvement using Safer Better Faster Tools as appropriate.
