**Role: Catastrophe modeling**

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and refine catastrophe models for **earthquakes and tsunamis**, with a focus on high-risk regions such as the Caribbean.
- Work with leading modeling platforms, including **Touchstone** (AIR) and **RiskLink** (RMS), for risk quantification and scenario analysis.
- Analyze regional exposure data and perform **hazard**, **vulnerability**, and **financial modeling** for NatCat events.
- Support the development of custom models and enhancements to existing models based on local building codes and construction practices.
- Collaborate with structural engineers to integrate **building design** parameters into damage estimation models.
- Perform **damage assessments** and post-event analysis to calibrate and validate model outputs.
- Provide insights and technical expertise to underwriting, actuarial, and reinsurance teams to support portfolio risk management.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate modeling results to internal stakeholders and clients.
**Requirements**:
- Master’s or Bachelor's degree in **Engineering**, **Geophysics**, **Disaster Risk Management**, **Catastrophe Modeling**, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in **catastrophe modeling**, preferably focused on **earthquakes, tsunamis**, and regional NatCat risks.
- Proficiency in catastrophe modeling software**:Touchstone (AIR)** and **RiskLink (RMS)**.
- Strong understanding of **structural vulnerability**, **building codes**, and **damage assessment techniques**.
- Familiarity with **Caribbean regional hazards**, building stock, and exposure datasets is a strong plus.
- Experience in **GIS**, **Python**, **SQL**, or other data analytics tools is advantageous.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £400.00-£771.86 per day
