Lloyd Barnes is pleased to be working with a progressive, local company based in Cornwall to help appoint into their finance team.

You will be required to manage the ledger, credits, outstanding payments & invoices. This role will include capturing accurate & timely financial data alongside recovering outstanding debts in a prompt but professional manner.

Other Responsibilities include:

- Chase, oversee & manage credit accounts.
- Reduce age debts in line with organisation terms & insurance parameters.
- Utilise stop letters when trading terms have been exceeded.
- Maintain accurate customer records, internal systems & credit records including paperwork
- Instigate legal proceedings as required.
- Process payments daily to the sales ledger, handling cash & cheques as required.
- Maintain an accurate sales & purchase ledger
- Reconciliations
- Monitor & set customer account credit limits.
- Analyse reports & payment trends.
- General administrative duties (assisting with a shared mailbox, document filing & answering calls).
- Support month-end processes.
- Attend finance department and company meetings as required, providing financial reporting for managers & suggesting improvements.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- A motivated and positive team player with excellent communication skills.
- Able to take ownership and accountability with high levels of integrity.
- A methodical & logical approach with the ability to meet deadlines, with work to a high standard.
- Strong Microsoft Skills (particularly Excel) & general IT skills, including calculation software.
- AAT/IBS/Financial Management qualifications beneficial but not essential - someone who is keen to learn will be strongly considered
