We are looking for a Stores/Logistics Supervisor at our Gorrells Way Site.

We would ideally like a person who understands our Company and the products we manufacture along with the ability to lead a team. You will be required to supervise a team of operatives to ensure that stock is stored and distributed efficiently to maintain the maximum use of space and achieve optimum productivity.

In this role you will also oversee the dispatch operations for both internal and external deliveries to ensure that it operates efficiently, effectively and safely and have the ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet internal deadlines, also to ensure that they carry out their work effectively and safely, receive stores and distribute materials to ensure that there are sufficient stocks to meet production requirements at each manufacturing site.

Full Job Description:
**Main purpose of job**:
To supervise a team of operatives to ensure that stock is stored and distributed efficiently to maintain the maximum use of space and achieve optimum productivity.

**Main responsibilities**:
1. Supervise a team of stores operatives and drivers to ensure that they carry out their work effectively and safely.

2. Receive, store and distribute materials to ensure that there are sufficient stocks to meet production requirements at each manufacturing site. Follow up on any shortages.

3. Oversee the dispatch operation for both internal and external deliveries to ensure that it operates efficiently, effectively and safely.

4. Provide advice and guidance to company managers and staff on warehouse utilization, logistics, pallet control, transport costs etc.

5. Monitor manning levels in stores/logistics and make recommendations as necessary in the event of staff absence to support programme of material supply to production.

6. Address and resolve (with relevant department) any issues arising in the materials process which may prevent the meeting of the manufacturing programme.

7. Train operatives in stores processes to ensure that they work efficiently.

8. Monitor the working environment to ensure that company safety policies and health and safety regulations are complied with and to provide a safe and healthy working environment.

9. Maintain all necessary stores/transportation records including tachographs and associated legislative documentation.

10. Conduct, where necessary, any investigation or potential disciplinary action relating to HR issues (up to Written Warning).

11. Ensure that the site and associated equipment is secure out of hours.

12. Maintain all necessary records of goods stored and dispatched, carrying out regular stock checks to maintain stock accuracy and location.

**Knowledge, skills and experience required the job requires**:

- A basic secondary education;
- At least 5 years’ experience in stores/warehousing;
- At least 3 years’ foreperson / supervisory experience;
- Basic understanding of logistics / transport statutory requirements;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good time management skills;
- A flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the business.

**Salary**: £11.74 per hour
