Head of Maintenance

We are looking for a Head of Maintenance to oversee the care and preservation of St Audries Park, a breathtaking Grade II listed country house set within a 100-acre estate. You’ll ensure the venue is always in immaculate condition, working closely with key team members to schedule maintenance work, assist with wedding setups, and manage budgets effectively.
**What You’ll Be Doing**:
- Planned & Proactive Maintenance - Create and oversee a weekly schedule of works, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard
- Material & Budget Management - Plan ahead by ordering materials for the week ahead, ensuring all work is cost-effective and within budget
- Venue Coordination - Liaise with the Venue Manager, Deputy Venue Manager, and Sales Manager to address maintenance priorities and ensure the venue is always in its most presentable condition
- Wedding Day Setup Support - Assist the wedding team by ensuring chairs, styling items, and key décor are set up in time for each wedding
- Project Oversight - Work closely with the Maintenance Director on larger restoration and improvement projects
- Supplier & Contractor Management - Source, book, and liaise with trusted tradespeople for specialist repairs and larger projects
- General Maintenance & Repairs - Hands-on work including painting, decorating, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks to preserve the estate’s charm
- Health & Safety Compliance - Ensure the venue remains safe and legally compliant, conducting regular checks and addressing any urgent issues
**What We’re Looking For**:
- A highly skilled maintenance professional with experience in building upkeep, restoration, and estate management
- Excellent planning and budgeting skills - Able to order materials in advance and manage costs effectively
- Experience working on listed buildings (preferred but not essential)
- Strong leadership & organisation skills - You take ownership of tasks and plan ahead to keep everything running smoothly
- Attention to detail & high standards - You take pride in keeping a historic venue looking its best at all times
- Strong communicator - Confident in liaising with venue managers, suppliers, and contractors
- Hands-on & proactive - While managing the team and projects, you’ll also be happy to get involved in hands-on tasks and assist with wedding day setups
