**About The Job** Salary**: £25,409 to £27,852 per annum.

**Working Pattern**: 37 hours per week.

**Contract Length**: Permanent.

**Location**:The Prevention Team is based at Bognor but the CFSO would be expected to attend at various locations throughout the county which will be dependant on referrals received, these will be managed by yourself. Hybrid working options also available when carrying out administrative duties.

If you are looking for a rewarding role, look no further. As a Community Fire Safety Officer, you will support those who are most vulnerable and at risk of injury and death should a fire occur in their home.

You will undertake a Safe and Well visit, install the detection equipment, and provide advice with the aim of reducing the level of risk and provide support with their health and wellbeing by signposting or referring on to partner agencies.

You will represent the fire service at events that target local groups and for training external partners to identify individual fire risks.

**Experience and Skills** Key Skills**
- Ability to quickly assimilate information, consider the issues/risks/resource implications and persuade the client to adopt the most appropriate course of action.
- Ability to organise/prioritise work and co-ordinate a variety of tasks.
- Ability to diagnose, research, analyse and interpret varied and complex information to make effective and robust judgements.
- Excellent communication, especially verbal skills, with the ability to influence the actions of others.
- Ability to think laterally and to adapt to changing situations.
- Sound and accurate IT and keyboard skills in order to produce reports and monitor statistics.
- Ability to manage your own diary and carry out your visits in a timely manner.
- To be a team player, by supporting colleagues sharing information and knowledge as appropriate.

**Qualifications**
- Experience of risk assessment, home visiting, installing specialist equipment, delivering specialist advice and/or working in a care and wellbeing role.
- Technical knowledge in the use of specialist equipment such as tele linked smoke detectors, peripheral devices and careline support systems would be beneficial.

You will be installing fire safety equipment, which may require some level of physical effort.

You will be required to travel around the county and a van/car will be provided. You will also be required to have an appropriate driving licence for the UK.

The role involves a considerable amount of lone working therefore you will be required to be a self-starter who adheres to the Lone Working Policy of WSFRS.
