**Division Overview**
Clarksons Port Services provides the highest standards of support with 24/7 attendance to vessel owners, operators and charters at a wide range of strategically located ports in the UK and Egypt. We provide vessel agency, project logistics, vessel chartering, freight forwarding, warehousing, crew travel and industrial supplies. Service is our watchword.

**Role Summary**
We are seeking a Trainee Agency Operator to join the team in our Newcastle office, carrying out ships agency operations within a port environment.

**What you will be doing**
- Carrying out ships agency operations duties.
- Communicating with customers, vessels and port authorities and assisting in the preparation of cargo and vessel documentation.
- In addition to a standard 37.5 hour working week, you will as required undertake work out of usual office hours on a rota basis. The role will also provide cover for other UK based offices as required.
- To fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

**What we are looking for**
- Current, clean, UK valid driving licence
- Ships agency and/or port operations experience preferable
- Experience or exposure within a shipping capacity would be beneficial
- Confident, self-starter with the ability to communicate well with a wide range of individuals
- Ability to produce and maintain accurate paperwork
- Confident in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Ability to undertake regular out of hours attendances
