This unique opportunity allows service leavers to experience various elements of Liberty Specialty Markets through a flexible rotational placement across a large variety of key teams, including Underwriting, Claims, Project Management, Operations, and other support functions. The program aims to help veterans explore different career paths within the organisation, identify areas of interest, with the aim of aligning them to suitable roles within the organisation. The initial duration of the placement is two months, with the possibility of extending at the discretion of the line manager. About the Department & Team: The Veterans' Matters Committee at Liberty Specialty Markets play a vital role in supporting veterans as they transition into civilian careers. This committee consists of representatives from various departments across the organisation who serve as key sponsors and mentors for the placement participants. While the committee will host the placement, it is not limited to the teams they comprise. Instead, they will maintain a flexible approach and enable opportunities across the organisation based on the individual veteran’s interests and requests. This collaborative approach ensures that service leaver can gain a comprehensive understanding of various roles and functions within the business. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in a rotational program, engaging with various teams across Underwriting, Claims, Project Management, Operations and support functions to gain insights into the insurance industry. - Support day-to-day activities in assigned teams, contributing to tasks such as risk assessment, claims management, project planning, and operational support. - Attend team meetings, training sessions, and workshops to develop an understanding of processes, market dynamics, and organisational practices. - Collaborate with team members to analyse data and provide insights that can assist in improving workflows and client service. - Share feedback and innovative ideas to enhance processes and improve service delivery based on observations from rotations. - Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively always demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules, Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing Skills and Experience: - All Regular Service Leavers/Veterans that have left the Armed Forces are eligible, providing that you have the right to work in the UK. - Transferable skills applicable to a corporate environment, including leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. - Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. - Basic understanding of insurance concepts is beneficial; prior knowledge of any specific function (Underwriting, Claims, Project Management etc.) is a plus but not essential. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and willingness to learn relevant software tools used within the departments. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate in diverse teams. - A proactive attitude towards learning and a strong commitment to explore various career paths within the insurance industry.
