Hseq Advisor

_**Purpose of job**_

Our aim is to become a market leader in the provision of Electric Vehicle charging solutions to Local Authorities and Businesses as part of our strategy to lead the transition to zero carbon.

The HSEQ Advisor for Zest’s Operations Projects & Operations Networks teams will be responsible for advising both the operational and support service teams on all health and safety matters. Taking the lead in the implementation of Zest HSEQ Management Processes across this area of the business and others as required, providing support as a centralised HSE resource for safety performance monitoring.

Assisting in the development of a strong and forward-thinking health and safety culture within the wider business so that HSEQ is part of the fabric of Zest, ensuring a holistic approach across all business functions/departments.
- **Key Accountabilities**_

The role is responsible for the following:

- Actively develop, support and lead activities aimed at making HSEQ a fundamental component within Zest’s culture.
- Strategically develop and recommend HSEQ targets, objectives and strategies in collaboration with the HSEQ Manager & Operations Directors.
- Support the implementation of the HSEQ Management System across all business functions to ensure that ISO certifications are maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement by encouraging & supporting identification of opportunities for improvement across all business functions.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including employees, clients & contractors, providing support & guidance as required.
- Monitoring & measuring objectives, targets & safety performance proactively via audits & site visits and communicating performance through scheduled meetings.
- Embedding proactive incident prevention behaviours across all teams through hazard observation awareness.
- Provide calm reactive response to any incident or accident, ensuring, through recognised investigative techniques, all underlying & root causes are identified & corrective/preventative actions are assigned and implemented.

- HSEQ objectives & targets are met, maintained & safety performance is effectively communicated.
- Successful implementation of the HSEQ Management System & processes using internal visits & audits.
- Retention of ISO 45001, 14001 & 9001 certification.
- **Key Relationships**_
- Internal - Technical Delivery Managers & Maintenance Engineers, safety representatives from all business functions, tendering team.
- External - Contractors & clients.
- **Knowledge and Skills**_
- A working knowledge of CDM 2015
- Experience/knowledge of engineering/manufacturing operational environment
- Working knowledge of UK HSE regulations
- Understanding of ISO requirements and management systems
- Development & delivery of HSE awareness training
- Determining solutions for risk reduction

- **Qualifications**_

**Essential**
- NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or equivalent

**Desirable**
- IOSH Membership
- Auditing training
- Incident Investigation Training
- CSCS Card
- Other H&S training (SSSTS, SMSTS etc)
