We are currently recruiting for a Attendance and Welfare Officer based in a School in West London.
Your role will be to assist with implementing and developing the Academy attendance policy and monitor attendance levels as required. To investigate and follow-up students’ absence from school and promote outstanding attendance. To support with school administrationas required, as part of the administration team.
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To oversee attendance records, ensuring that they are accurate and up to date.
- To lead on weekly attendance and AIO meetings.
- To communicate with parents/carers or local authority as required.
- To refer non-school attendance cases to the Attendance Improvement Service (AIS) in accordance with the Academy attendance policy.
- To assist Heads of Year in addressing the attendance and truancy of targeted families, maintaining regular contact with parents/carers whose children’s attendance is of concern.
- Contact parents to discuss concerns and coordinate appointments for attendance meetings.
- To check dual registration students.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to workload and prioritise tasks efficiently.

**Person specification and skills**:

- A strong written and verbal communicator with excellent team working skills.
- Motivated and determined to succeed, with a flexible approach to work.
- Able to prioritise workload accurately and efficiently.
- Good level of IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. A working knowledge of SIMs will be an advantage.
- The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude, in a demanding and busy environment.
- Well organised and capable of working on your own initiative.
- A keen eye for detailand accuracy.
- Flexible and supportive with the ability to work cohesively as a member of the administrative team.

This role will sits within the school administrative department; the postholder will be line managed by the SLT member with responsibility for attendance and supervised by the Office Manager.
