**Job title**:Referrals, Allocations and Transition Officer

**Reports to**:Service Lead

**Hours**:40 hours a week with ½ hour unpaid break for lunch

**Location**:Birmingham, B16
DBS required: Yes, Enhanced and Barred

**Purpose**:Pegasus Supported Housing Limited provides shared supported housing solutions in line with housing related support which promotes independence, safety and security. We empower our Service Users to take positive action to promote their wellbeing and achieve optimum independence within their daily lives, while preparing to achieve tenancy sustainment in preparation for their own homes.

The Referral, Allocations,& Transition Officer will take lead responsibility in this area and will be the first point of contact for individuals making a referral to, or enquiries to the organisation. You will be responsible for networking on a day-to-day basis with external agencies and multi-disciplinary agencies with the aim of allocating suitable rooms to those in need. The role is fundamental to increasing revenue for the organisation through ensuring performance targets relating to voids and lettings are met and continually improved.
Responsibilities & Key Duties:

- To ensure maximum occupancy levels are in line with organisational KPI’s to maximise revenue.
- To review referrals and make offers of accommodation in line with the PSH Referrals and Allocations Policy, procedures and individual agency requirements.
- Develop and maintain an effective referrals database in live format for incoming referrals, including effectively maintaining waiting lists.
- Collate external risk assessments and other supporting evidence from third party organisations whom a prospective service user may be working with.
- To conduct comprehensive, person centred, risk and needs assessments using a holistic approach to determine a suitability of our services for the prospective service user.
- To communicate with prospective service users about their needs and backgrounds in a non-judgmental, open and respectful manner.
- Communicate effectively and consult with Housing Officers and Life Skills Coaches to ensure appropriate allocation of the prospective service user is made.
- Arrange for interviews and viewings to take place with Service Users and Property Services teams.
- To maintain a positive and professional working relationship with partners, both statutory and voluntary multi-disciplinary referral agencies and develop an expanding network of referral sources to increase referral numbers.
- Produce reports for voids and lettings weekly, analyses this data to identify trends across the service and develops action plans to improve services.
- Arrange and assist with sign-ups for new service users at allocated properties.
- Ensure allocations of service users are suitable through 3 month allocation review.
- Audit initial 3 month outcomes for service users ensuring immediate, short term and medium term outcomes have been met, evidenced and if not reasons recorded by the Life Skills Coach team.
- Work alongside Property Services team to ensure rooms are ready to let and turned around within target timeframe.

**Salary, Working Arrangements and Further Information**

Standard working hours for this post are 40 hours per week excluding 30 minutes per day lunch break which is unpaid.

£20,000 per annum

**Essential**:

- Must hold a Full UK Driver’s License
- Experience of working with multiple disadvantaged individuals
- Experience of conducting risk and needs based assessments
- Experience of working in a multi disciplinary approach
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and a case management system / database
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- A flair for developing and maintaining effective partnership working with multiple agencies and other relevant stakeholders.
- Outstanding time management skills, a proven ability to multi-task.

**Desirable**:

- Up to date knowledge of welfare rights and relevant legislation
- Demonstratable experience of co-ordinating housing referrals and allocation
- To have a current DBS through the DBS update service.
