Morgan Hunt is currently working with a London based health membership body.

This is an exciting role for someone who has previous media environment and journalism experience and who has worked for a membership organisation before. You must have a passion for current affairs and health agenda and thrive off optimising viewers and content engagement.

**Role**: Press and PR Officer

**Sector**: Medical Membership body

**Salary**: 35,000

**Term**: Permanent

Key responsibilities of the new Press and PR officer:

- To further raise the profile of the organisation and increase national media coverage in line with organisations campaign and policy priorities.
- To pro-actively promote the work of the organisation and respond to media enquiries in order to enhance the standing and influence of the organisation nationally, regionally and internationally.
- To draw up proactive communications plans around the organisations priorities, incorporating print, broadcast, online and social media.
- To respond quickly and sensitively to negative or critical news stories, limiting potential damage to the reputation of the organisation
- To provide strategic advice and briefings to the Chair, Officers, and Chief Executive, identifying and promoting key organisations policies, highlighting risks and ensuring that the organisation communicates consistent messages.

Previous Experience and skills of the new Press and PR Officer:

- Ability to work authoritatively, knowledgeably and confidently with journalists and senior Organisation spokespeople and Organisation members
- Proven experience of running proactive public relations campaigns and crisis management
- Experience of working in a national membership organisation, charity or similar organisation
- Developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of social media activities to increase the number of followers on Twitter, Facebook and other social media challenges.
