We are looking for a professional Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold refreshments to our customers.
As a Barista, you will be responsible to educate customers on our dessert and beverages menu, making suggestions in light of their inclinations, up-selling exceptional items and taking orders.
You should plan out a menu and get the same approval from higher management. The menu should include different sorts of espresso, tea, cold beverages, and some eatable items.
You should have excellent customer service skills and an outstanding understanding of how brewing equipment operates. You should be ready to work in various shifts. Maintaining an inventory of the ingredients is also a part of this job.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Welcome customers pleasantly as they enter the restaurant.
- Provide dessert and drink menus to customers and answer their questions with respect to ingredients.
- Take orders while focusing on subtle details like preferences of coffee or espresso blend, dairy and sugar proportions.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, milkshakes, mocktails and other beverages following the recipes provided.
- Prepare and serve desserts like sundaes, and waffles to the customers.
- Serve prepared food in a presentable manner. Ensure that it’s of high quality.
- Ensure that the working environment especially the kitchen and cash counter is kept clean and tidy.
- Receive and process payments. Record every transaction in a cash register.
- Clean and maintain the bar area.
- Monitor stock levels and inform management when extra stock is required.
- Check if blending and brewing equipment works appropriately. Report any maintenance needs immediately.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (OSHA).
- Convey client feedback to supervisors and suggest new menu items.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- High school diploma is mandatory.
- Previous 1+ year work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress in any coffee shop or restaurant.
- Proficient with brewing equipment.
- Outstanding knowledge of sanitation regulations.
- Flexible to work various shifts (e.g. weekends, early morning and night shifts).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Customer-service oriented approach.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: £11.50-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
