Housekeeper

Housekeeper, 22.5 hours per week, Band 2, West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic housekeeper who wants to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. Previous experience as a housekeeper is not essential as in-house training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to meet the demands of this role.

Ward 3 is a 30 bedded unit. We have 15 beds allocated to general medicine and 15 beds allocated to acute stroke care and rehabilitation.
- Serve patients meals, adhering to food hygiene regulations.
- Prepare and serve hot/cold beverages at the scheduled times. - Update patient food diaries.
- Be aware of increased nutritional needs. Ensure these needs are met by assisting patients to eat and drink, eg cutting up food, placing food within easy
- Monitor and maintain high standards of cleaning and hygiene standards of ward kitchen (including fridge and microwave) and treatment/stock/store/staff rooms/offices, ensuring all equipment/utensils and surfaces are clean at all times, eg discarding out of date food, stock rotation. - Monitor the safe disposal of waste..
- Support the Ward Manager in helping to ensure the ward environment is safe and tidy including the removal of any hazards/clutter. - Be aware of the safe use of equipment and security of the area - Report equipment faults and monitor repairs. - Report any accidents or incidents as per Trust policy.
- Monitor and replenish Ward stock including preparing stock and non-stock requisitions for approval. - Liaise with patients and carers to ensure they have sufficient supply of clothing and toiletries. - Attend Dietician link meetings.
