An opportunity now exists for a Stress Analysis Engineer on a full time, permanent basis to work in our client's Pipeline Group (PG) team located in Sutton. The Pipelines Group are responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation analysisto projects and/or tenders with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operations.

As a Stress Analysis Engineer, you will perform advanced finite element analyses (FEA) to support all group engineering activities, in particular the operation of company reell lay vessels. You will design 3D solid in-line pipe components, pipelines andother pressure equipment under high mechanical, thermal and pressure loads.
Ideally, you'll have experience working on Non-Linear Analyses problems within FEA and Contact FEA modelling, and you should have a strong background on Solid modelling and Abaqus (or similar) and preferably non-linear material modelling. The role is suitedfor all levels of experience, from recent MSc or PhD graduates to experienced engineers.
What will your responsibilities involve?
Predict vessel settings for reeling of subsea pipelines
Understand and perform structural reliability assessments
Provides support to offshore reeling operations
Participate with training and development of other engineers
Participate to the PG department know-how consolidation
Propose innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction
What are we looking for?
Qualifications/Experience
Previous experience in a similar role, and similar type of work on FEA focused on complex mechanical behaviour and contact analysis
A PhD in an associated topic is an advantage and will be equivalent to experience in a similar role
Previous experience working with Abaqus, and Python is highly desirable
