**Job Title: Motor Claims Handler** **Salary: £22,599-£26,016** **Grade: 4** **Closing Date: 7th September** **The role** We are seeking an experienced motor insurance claims handler to join our in-house insurance team. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of motor insurance claims involving West Midlands Police. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity, offering a mix of home and office based working, based at Lloyd House, HQ. **Key responsibilities** - To assist in the management of the Force motor insurance claims processes - To identify any risk management issues arising from insurance claims and assist in the analysis of such risks - To assist in the management and development of systems to support the insurance programme - To assist in the production of reports/information - Work alongside existing insurers and intermediaries to ensure claims are processed effectively and efficiently - Work alongside other members of the team to provide support and assistance where required **Qualifications/Experience** - Experience of insurance practice and administration - Experience around pre-action protocols for motor insurance claims - Negotiation and mediation skills - Analytical and investigative skills - Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team - capable of taking on new areas of work with mínimal supervision - Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information **Conditions** This is a full time role working 36.5 hours per week, utilising a hybrid working approach.
