**Purpose of job**
Our Finance practice advises many of the world’s leading financial institutions, corporates, funds and advisors in relation to the full range of international and domestic financial markets products. This role will provide BCLP’s clients with specialist, dedicated R&I advice and transactional support.

**Key responsibilities**
Our dedicated R&I team is recognised as market leading in complex real estate restructurings and insolvencies. The team also advise on restructurings in a variety of sectors, including leisure, insurance, financial services, energy, retail, shipping, healthcare and automotive.

We have worked with a wide range of clients; from advising distressed companies, their boards of directors and sponsors, to advising lenders, investors, servicers, secondary debt investors, hedge funds and private equity houses, as well as financial advisers, turnaround specialists, insolvency practitioners and other officeholders.

**Experience and knowledge**
We are looking for a talented and ambitious 2PQE+ associate from a large regional or city firm to join our London R&I team. They would work on the following sorts of matters:

- reviewing security and loan documents (LMA), including intercreditor and priority agreements, with a view to advising stakeholders on their rights following default;
- developing and advising on options for stakeholders in distressed situations, including cross-border structures;
- the appointment of administrators and receivers;
- pre-packaged administration sales of shares or businesses;
- company voluntary arrangements;
- advice to directors on their duties;
- loan to own strategies by distressed investors; and
- solvent corporate and debt reorganisations.

The work is primarily non-contentious but does occasionally involve working with colleagues in our disputes and corporate risk team on more contentious matters.

They will have a strong academic record and an ability to work closely with clients and colleagues as part of a team.
