**Scope**:
**Responsibilities**:

- **Supplier management** - Manage and develop existing suppliers in defined spend areas and be actively involved in supplier negotiations.
- **Cost savings** - Identify and deliver year on year cost down opportunities within the defined category, ensuring best value for money at all times.
- **Purchasing efficiencies** - Work closely with the Operations Department to ensure optimum quality, prices and delivery for defined parts to support minimising inventory.
- **Cross functional project teams** - Actively represent procurement on cross functional project teams, such as improvement projects and NPI.
- **Supplier rationalisation** - Deliver an optimal supply chain that provides product to the business at the required level of quality, price and terms.
- **Risk mitigation** - Identify, control and manage risk within defined categories to ensure any risk has been mitigated and ensure full compliance to Group standards.
- **New components and suppliers** - Responsible for sourcing and introduction of new components and suppliers in line with company procedures.
- **Interaction** - Work with buyers in other sites to capitalise on shared learnings.
- **Tendering** - Lead and carry out RFQs/ Tenders to support supplier rationalisation, NPI and new second sourcing strategies.
- **Planet passionate** - Play a leading role in reduction of embedded carbon within the supply chain

**Qualifications**

CIPS qualified or working towards

Degree level qualified

**Experience & Knowledge**

3-5 years successful experience in a similar role and level within a manufacturing environment, with knowledge and experience of working with an ERP system

Experience of project management

Experience in leading and carrying out tenders/ RFQs

Experience of auditing suppliers

Experience of introducing new suppliers/ components

Commodity management experience

Experience in managing metal, plastic and electrical components

Experience of implementing inventory strategies

Advanced working knowledge and experience of Excel (pivot tables & V lookups etc)

Able to travel as required - full, unendorsed Driving Licence

**Abilities & Skills**

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload. Developed problem solving skills, including the ability to manage conflicting work demands.

Capacity to work independently with limited supervision.

Be able to undertake a continuous review of procedures to achieve and maintain best practice.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to liaise and advise stakeholders at all levels.

Adaptable and flexible and able to work as part of a team.

Able to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.

Must be very ‘hands on’ with Can do attitude

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
