We have a fantastic opportunity for a Research & Information Assistant to join our Cambridge office on a part-time basis (21 hours).

**The role**:
As a Research & Information Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality research and information service to all partners and staff. You will be part of the award-winning Research & Information Team, reporting directly to the Head of Research & Information. This team is an integral part of the Knowledge Management Team within the Technology Business Services group, which reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

Based in the Cambridge office, you may also have opportunities to work in the firm's other offices from time to time, providing a diverse and enriching work experience.

**Activities**:
**Enquiry Handling and Current Awareness**
- **Utilising Resources**: You will use internal know-how systems and external resources to provide timely, cost-efficient, comprehensive, and accurate information. This could involve using databases, online journals, and other digital tools to gather and collate information.
- **Assisting Enquirers**: You will help users locate information resources, such as signposting a lawyer to the most useful database for their research or helping them locate a book.
- **Providing Current Awareness**: You will keep users updated with the latest developments in their fields, such as sending out regular newsletters or alerts.

**Online Resources Management**
- **Maintaining Internal Resources**: You will assist with maintaining internal resources like OneNote, SharePoint, and our Internet Links. This will involve updating content, ensuring links are functional, and organising information for easy access.
- **Administrative Support**: You will provide administrative support for maintaining user guides and training materials on our intranet pages, ensuring that all staff have access to the latest information and tools.
- **New Starters/Leaver Processes**: You will assist with the administration related to onboarding new employees and managing the departure of staff, ensuring a smooth transition.

**Stock Maintenance**
- **Collection Management**: You will assist with managing the hard copy collection, including books and journals. This will involve labelling, updating, filing, archiving, and ensuring the library is well-organised.
- **Updating Materials**: You will update looseleaf materials and ensure that book stock is shelved and maintained properly.
- **Managing New Materials**: You will handle the check-in and despatch of new materials, including serials, books, and looseleafs, using the Library Management System.
- **Physical Distribution**: You will distribute hardcopy materials to fee earners and prepare stock for disposal when required.

**Business Systems**
- **Automated Systems**: You will achieve competence in using the firm's automated systems and accurately record usage of chargeable services.

**General Duties**
- **Additional Tasks**: You will undertake other duties as required by the Head of Research & Information or the Research & Information Advisors, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in your role.
