Procurement Team Leader - Poole - up to £36,000
A Procurement Team Leader is required by our client based in Poole to join the Supply chain team, the main aspect of the role is to be responsible for a team of buyers to ensure a smooth running of the supply chain and to enhance the efficiency of buyinggoods and services available.
The individual will be Implementing new technologies as they become available and supporting the Buyers in taking up the new tools and techniques including catalogues and requisitioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all purchase orders are placed to ensure on time in full delivery of all goods and services.
- Ensure the team resolve any problems that arise to ensure the products are received and flag any on-going performance issues.
- Be the point of escalation for the team.
- Use MRP with maximum efficiency and ensure all daily tasks are completed.
- Establish Purchase and Trade agreements and manage Master data to ensure MRP is automated.
- Accountability for product set up in the catalogue, ensuring all details are accurate and supporting ease of ordering.
- To coordinate, manage and improve the performance of the Buyer team to meet the needs of their customers.
- Managing and improving the team performance, as evidence with KPIs, coaching team members on new ways of working and system use.
- Establishing smart objectives to ensure the team deliver the required value and efficient ordering.
- Prioritise and delegate incoming work within the team to ensure a balanced workload that is flexible enough to meet demand
- Ensuring goods and services are secured against approved suppliers and allocating requisitions to existing agreements.
- Completing a three-bid quotation exercise where necessary.
- Developing supplier relationships through specific performance monitoring and reporting against contracts as guided by Category Managers.
- Responsible for ensuring the team manage day to day problem resolution such as invoice queries, late deliveries and quality issues.
- To become involved in other ad hoc tasks as required.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience in a managerial position, with a procurement background.
- Mentoring and coaching skills
- Ability to analyse data.
- Understanding of procurement in a production environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- Organised and highly motivated
- IT Literate
