Factory Process Worker
We’re a small, long-established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality processing and finishing services to the aerospace sector. In addition to this core focus, we also undertake specialised subcontract work for a select group of non-aerospace clients. We’re looking for someone proactive, adaptable, and meticulous to join our tight-knit team. If you thrive in a role that blends precision, teamwork, and independence, this could be the perfect fit for you
**What We’re Looking For in You**:
**Excellent Communication Skills**: You’ll be a confident and professional communicator, comfortable liaising with colleagues, clients, and suppliers alike. Building strong relationships and contributing to a positive team dynamic is key.
**IT Proficiency**: You’ll need to be comfortable using computers and basic software for tasks like order processing, quote preparation, and record-keeping.
**Keen Attention to Detail**: Precision is at the heart of what we do. You’ll have a sharp eye for detail and the ability to work accurately, ensuring every task meets our high standards.
**Organised**: You’ll be adept at multi-tasking, staying organised, and prioritising your workload effectively, especially when juggling multiple projects or deadlines.
**Skilled Problem Solver**:You’ll tackle challenges head-on, using your analytical skills to resolve issues on the factory floor and in the office, ensuring smooth operations and top-quality results.
**Your Experience**:
**Quality Control Background**: Previous experience in an ISO 9001 quality control environment would be a fantastic advantage, giving you a head start in understanding our processes—though it’s not a must.
**Standards Familiarity**: If you’ve worked with ISO 9001 or AS/EN9100 standards before, that’s a bonus, but don’t worry if you haven’t—we’re happy to train the right person.
**Production Environment Exposure**: Experience working in a production or manufacturing setting would be highly beneficial, particularly if you’ve handled tasks like material preparation or process monitoring.
**Hands-On Finishing Skills**: Familiarity with finishing techniques—such as polishing, deburring, or surface treatment—would be a great asset, though we’ll provide full training to get you up to speed.
**Machine Operation Skills**: Experience using machinery like lathes, milling machines, or equipment for surface enhancement would be desirable, bringing valuable hands-on expertise to the role.
**Your Role in Detail**:
**Variety of Responsibilities**: This is a hands-on role that combines office-based tasks with time spent on the factory floor, giving you a diverse and engaging workday.
**Comprehensive Training**: If you don’t quite meet all aspects of the role we’ll provide full training on our procedures, covering everything from aerospace-specific methods to processes for non-aerospace clients.
**Order Management**: You’ll handle the full cycle of customer orders—accepting them, booking them in, and ensuring they’re booked out efficiently once completed.
**Organisation**: You’ll play a vital role in keeping both the office and factory floor tidy and efficient.
**Working Hours**:
**Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
**Break**: You’ll get a 1-hour lunch break each day, making your total weekly hours 37.5.
**Overtime Opportunities**: During busy periods, there’s the chance to get involved in extra hours.
**Salary**:
Salary level starting at £12.21 p/hour but there can be flexibility dependent on experience level.
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
**Benefits**:
- Company pension
