Graduate Environmental and Sustainability Advisor

Bouygues UK are looking for a Graduate Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join our Environmental & Sustainability team supporting the London and South East region. The Graduate Environmental & Sustainability Advisor will be the main point of contact for all Environmental matters for projects across the region. You will provide guidance and promote best practice supporting Pre-Construction and Project Teams on the identification and management of environmental risks, as well as advise on local regulatory requirements and our own Environmental Standards.
Typically this will include:
- Assisting project teams to obtain and comply with all relevant environmental related legal licences & permits
- Assist in the preparation & review of project environmental documents including those of 3rd parties
- Ensure that project teams are effectively managing all relevant environmental aspects to reduce risk on site
- Upskill and support site teams with regards to their environmental and sustainability responsibilities
- Undertake regular inspections and audits to ensure project teams are in line with ISO14001 & ISO5001
- Assist Project Teams to aid the management and investigation of environmental incidents.
- Provide guidance to Project Teams to aid identification and implementation of preventive measures
- Develop regular internal environmental reports highlighting site performance against current KPIs
- Collaborate with the head of department in driving the environmental and sustainability agenda forward and improving performance across the Business Unit and companywide e.g. through writing communications and delivering training
- Advise, monitor and guide the project teams in order to develop and deliver projects’ design, build and process compliant with all relevant sustainability requirements in the most cost-effective way and in line with Bouygues policies.
- Manage and deliver sustainability assessments (BREEAM, CfSH, WELL, HQM, Passivhaus, Fitwel, etc).
- Support and assist the Head of Environmental & Sustainability and Environmental & Sustainability Managers to develop and execute sustainability strategies and innovation best practices.
**About you**:
Essential skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an environmental disciplineDesirable skills and experience
- Experience as an environmental advisor, possibly gained on a placement
- Construction Industry experience
- Proven experience in autonomously managing and submitting full certification schemes, including pre-assessment, interim and post construction stages i.e. BREEAM, CfSH, WELL, HQM, Passivhaus
Data collection in respect to carbon reporting
- BREEAM accredited professional qualification
- Experience in developing and executing sustainability strategies
- Experience carrying Whole building life-cycle assessment using Oneclick LCA/eTool software
- IEMA member (Associate level or higher)
