**Job overview**:

- We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist who is looking for a new opportunity and challenge to lead on the development of psychological services and to provide psychological input for older people._
- The services are located in the Waveney area and consist of a CMHT, Dementia Intensive Support Team and Memory Treatment Service. In addition, this role will provide psychological input to the inpatient ward at Carlton Court hospital._
- Our care group is very committed in developing high quality services and the community teams for older people across the trust have been rated as good by the CQC. We welcome opportunities for innovation, quality improvement, research and training, and we have strong links with the local doctoral course in clinical psychology at UEA. The care group is also keen to embed evidence-based practice within services and the successful applicant will have access to further training in CLEAR Dementia Care._
- This post will be supported by the care group lead consultant applied psychologist, the consultant applied psychologist, and the clinical director. The post holder will have the opportunity to work alongside another Clinical Psychologist, a Clinical Associate Psychologist and Assistant Psychologist across the care group and there is a well-established network of later life psychologists in the Trust and a Trustwide Older People’s forum._

**Main duties of the job**:

- In addition to the duties that can be found in the job description attached, the post holder will have an interest and show ability or potential for leading the development of psychological services._
- The post holder will work with the lead consultant applied psychologist and the consultant applied psychologist to make the psychological care for older people in Waveney excellent and in line with the aspirations of national agendas such as the Long Term Plan._
- The post holder will lead in supporting and embedding psychological thinking in teams and develop a reflective culture._
- The post holder will provide a wide range of psychological interventions such as specialist assessments, formulations, interventions, training for staff, reflective practice, and will be pivotal to develop psychologically informed teamwork and environments._

- Reasonable confidence and competence in using IT systems (e.g. Outlook, Word, clinical or other record systems) relevant to the role.
- Use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
- Assessment, evaluation and management of risk associated with mental ill health and related psychopathology
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively complex, highly technical and clinically highly sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
