**Job overview**:
**An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Youth Team in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. This is an innovative service working with young people aged 14-25 and their families. We are a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team and are passionate about working together to offer treatment and care to the young people who we support.**

The role will involve working with young people with a range of complex presenting problems and will include direct therapeutic work. We offer an environment where you can learn and further develop your skills. Supervision will be available from within the team to support you. We have regular education sessions that are led by different members of the multi-disciplinary team and visiting professionals that aim to keep us all updated with the latest and best clinical knowledge. As a whole team we are keen to continue developing and to ensure that we are offering the best possible service to the young people we work with. We are looking for motivated people, with good interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm and drive, for working with children and their families whilst they are going through a difficult and stressful period in their lives, in terms of their mental health and well-being.

**Main duties of the job**:

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients within the Directorate, across all aspects of care; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified clinical psychologist and within the overall
framework of the teams’ policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, teaching and project work.
To take part in research; to collect, input and analyse routine data and to report this to clinical teams, managers and others; to liaise with clinical teams across the directorate.
Under the direction of a practitioner to assist in care clustering in relation to Payment by Results on admission and discharge.
