We are currently looking to recruit the Head of Commissioning Delivery, who will be based at the Hinkley Point C (HPC) site and will be required to spend time at the various HPC locations including Bristol, ensuring the processes and commissioning requirements are developed and finalised in line with the detailed schedule of works. If successful you will also be required to visit Nuclear New Build partner organisations including the Responsible Designer in France and CGN’s Commissioning Organisation in China to develop working relationships and gain support, information, and examples of best practice.
As a Head of commissioning delivery, you will take responsibility for direction, leadership and delivery of the Commissioning Delivery programme as well as providing strategic level leadership and advice to the Programme Director, the Commissioning Team, and to stakeholders.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who has previous experience in commissioning and will be able to manage senior managers throughout the delivery of constant change that happens on the HPC project.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Developing the commissioning processes and procedures in accordance with INPO and WANO best practices and UK, French and Chinese experience. This will require liaison within the existing nuclear company, CGN specialists in China, EDF specialists in France and at the working level within the UK nuclear regulator.
- Supporting the NNB Genco leadership team in the achievement of all work programmes. This includes forward planning of resources and the provision of a short, medium and long term resource plan aligned with to the Project Schedule.
- Leading in the development and optimisation of the commissioning programme and managing delivery to meet key targets within the project work programme
- Ensuring that all Department activities, including that undertaken by contractors, are carried out with full regard to NSL arrangements, statutory regulations, Company and location directives, procedures, and Safety Rules. Ensuring that operation experience feedback is promoted and used.
- Managing of the programme activities providing a professional customer / client-based quality service in all aspects of environmental, safety, occupational health, and regulatory interfaces.
- Ensuring that the Programme develops a strong Project culture that is consistent with recognised nuclear safety culture.
- Incorporating operating experience to drive continuous improvement and deliver the HPC commissioning vision to set the international benchmark for commissioning of EPR.
- Ensuring that section business plans / budgets are accurately prepared, effectively monitored and controlled at the appropriate level in the organisation, encouraging / sponsoring initiatives for continuous improvement and reporting progress on agreed actions to the HPC Commissioning Programme Director.
- Working closely with HPC site leadership team colleagues to agree and implement policies and strategies to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Ensuring that Department resources, processes and activities are continuously reviewed and optimised to achieve HPC project objectives. Ensuring that all section staff are appraised, trained and developed in line with project needs.
- Management of the department activities to meet agreed quality standards ensuring compliance with the HPC Project Quality Manual and quality improvement programme and to meet prescribed service levels, standards and targets.
- Ensuring that the requirements of LC 21 and LC 28 are met through oversight of commissioning processes, standards and documentation.
- Coordinating the preparations for business continuity.
