**Trainee insulation technicians **required to work on a regeneration social housing project across the North East.

Are you looking to explore a career within the construction sector but not quite sure what trade will best suit your personality and skill set? Geon are an employer led provider who are delivering a regeneration programmes designed to support the social housing sector with a specific emphasis on **insulation technicians**.

**Duties will include**:
Will be working in pairs - as part of a wider insulation services team - to offer a variety of retrofit services within the job role. Your role will also offer a variety of other regeneration services which we can offer training on in future to expand the portfolio of skills for each employee - such as wall tie replacement, repointing, and lintel replacement. We are also expanding our own range of services to include flat roof insulation and external wall insulation. This is in line with the current boom in retrofit services required to achieve net carbon targets.
- Cavity Extraction:
Removal of existing failed or outdated cavity wall insulation using a system of high-pressured air jets and high-powered specialist extraction machinery. Working off scaffold and using a variety of power tools.
- Cavity Installation:
Refilling the cavities in blank or extracted walls with a superior material which offers greater heat retention within the property, saving tenants on energy bills.
- Loft Insulation:
Installation and or topping up of existing rolled loft insulation within domestic properties. A respectful attitude required due to working on the internal of tenants’ houses.

All elements of the work will require a solid foundation of health and safety knowledge - All mandatory training requirements will be provided as part of your onboarding with us:

- CSCS Card
- Asbestos Awareness
- Working At Height
- Manual Handling
- Gas Safety Awareness
- Face Fit
- Thermabead system carding - would be carried out once on site after initial classroom-based product training.
- A valid driving licence would be an additional welcome bonus as all of our work is carried across over several different sites.

Positive “can do” attitude is essential within this trade due to the fast pace of which social housing projects move, as well as an aspiration to learn new trades and specialist skills of which there is an ever-growing demand.

**Salary: £31,200 once competent and certified. There will be the opportunity to add additional income - however this is a minimum salary once competencies are achieved.**

**Salary**: £13,000.00 per year
