**About The Role**:
Are you an ambitious ornithologist with experience delivering ecological reports and technical assessments? Do you want to be part of a team using innovative ideas to proactively solve problems? If so, we want to hear from you. APEM Group are looking for a Senior Ornithology Consultant to join our team

Additional responsibilities for this role may include managing/undertaking the collection and interpretation of field ornithology data for baseline reporting and impact assessments, carrying out scoping surveys for protected species/habitats (phase 1) and managing external surveyors.

As you progress in this role, you will also prepare successful costed proposals, producing high-quality scientific reports and maintaining good relationships with clients. You will become a key advisor for clients and stakeholders, using your knowledge to deliver innovative solutions across a diverse range of projects, as well as mentoring and supporting junior members of the team.

**About you**

**You will have**:

- An established CV in ornithology, specialising in terrestrial or offshore ornithology.
- A sound knowledge of bird ecology, demography, and behaviour.
- An in-depth knowledge of bird ecology and survey experience in specialist techniques.
- Experience of undertaking technical reporting and tendering.
- Project management experience.
- A sound understanding of the UK planning process with respect to EIA and HRA requirements.
- Commercial awareness, preferably from a consultancy role.
