**Job Description**:
We have an exciting opportunity within our Journals Production department for a Team Leader.
The Production Team Leader will be responsible for managing and developing a high performing team of Production Editors, working in conjunction with T&F external vendors, to oversee excellent service and quality to authors and editors on a portfolio of journal products.
You will coach and give feedback to staff to develop skills and deliver excellent performance.
The role is responsible for continually improving service standards including the publication of content to schedule and budgets, and innovation across our products and systems such as developing solutions to improve workflows. The Team Leader will be expected to manage, motivate and support a team against a backdrop of change
**What you’ll be doing**:
- Lead a team Production Editors and take responsibility for overall team performance against KPIs
- Take responsibility for recruitment and training of new team members
- Coach and provide continued professional development to Production Editors within the team
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the efficiency and scalability for a portfolio of journals
- Create, maintain and control documentation of workflows and processes for the Production Department
- Collaborate with internal departments to further enhance the customer experience of Taylor & Francis
- Ensure article and issue publication run to agreed schedules and budgets
- Analyse errors and defects and put corrective actions in place to ensure quality is maintained
- Monitor supplier performance across a portfolio of journals and provide constructive feedback to ensure high quality outputs
- Understand how products can be developed and drive through changes to ensure each title is developed to its full potential in line with Taylor & Francis standards
- Identify opportunities for change at the product level and actively sell the benefits to editors and internal colleagues
- Manage resource allocation across the team
**What we’re looking for**:
- Experience of managing a team to KPIs and targets (preferred but not essential)
- Someone who enjoys working within a supportive and close-knit team
- Experience in a customer-focused role, and experience in balancing the needs of multiple of customer groups alongside the goals of the business
- A drive for continuous improvement and an analytical data-driven approach to problem solving
- Track record of people management and leadership, with the ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders on a focused objective
- Someone who embraces change and has experience of leading a team against a backdrop of continual change

**Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, full training will be provided.**
