Our client, a medium sized accountancy practice specialising in OMBs and tech start-ups, in the Milton Keynes / Bedfordshire area, is seeking an experienced and qualified Accounts Assistant Manager / Manager to join their growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of accounts assistants and overseeing the preparation and review of accounts for a portfolio of clients.

Other duties will include:

- Reviewing accounts prepared by accounts assistants, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and identifying any issues or discrepancies
- Managing and mentoring a team of accounts assistants, providing training and support as needed
- Liaising with clients to provide accounting advice and resolve any issues that arise
- Preparing management accounts and VAT returns for clients
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and corporation tax returns
- Ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Identifying opportunities to develop and grow the business, working closely with the senior management team to implement new initiatives

To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:

- ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong technical accounting skills with a good understanding of accounting standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Proven experience in managing a team, providing training and support as needed
- Good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
- Experience working with OMBs and tech start-ups would be an advantage but not essential
