An excellent opportunity to join a manufacturing business, based on the outskirts of Scarborough, as an Assistant Accountant. Salary is competitive and up to £30,000, depending on experience, alongside 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), attractiveworking hours - with an early finish on a Friday, hybrid working options (2 days working from home), generous pension contribution and life assurance. The successful individual will assist the Financial Controller in the day-to-day financial & transactional requirements for the business and will complete duties such as month end, quarterly forecasts and budget processes.

Key responsibilities for the successful Assistant Accountant will include:

- Month-end duties including intercompany recharges, fixed assets, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Debtors and creditors reporting.
- Assisting with the preparation of the management accounts and the quarterly forecast/annual budget processes.
- Responsible for sales ledger for the business.
- Accurately report on stock levels.
- Any other ad hoc tasks/projects as required by the Financial Controller and wider Finance Team.

To be successful in this Assistant Accountant role you will ideally:

- Have strong accountancy software skills such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks
- Have previous experience in a similar finance-based role, ideally in a manufacturing/FMCG background (sector experience not essential)
- Be studying or hold an accountancy qualification, such as your AAT/ACCA/CIMA or have relevant experience

This role is based on the outskirts of Scarborough and is easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Filey, Bridlington, Malton, Sherburn, Kirbymoorside or further. Car parking is also on site.
